CVSS v3.1 |
Vulnerability related to an unquoted search path in CivetWeb v1.16. This vulnerability allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges by placing a malicious executable in a directory that is scanned before the intended application path (C:\Program Files\CivetWeb\CivetWeb.exe --), due to the absence of quotes in the service configuration.
NETGATE Registry Cleaner build 16.0.205 contains an unquoted service path vulnerability in the NGRegClnSrv service that allows local attackers to escalate privileges by exploiting the service binary path. Attackers can place a malicious executable in the unquoted path and trigger service restart or system reboot to execute code with LocalSystem privileges.
Products provided by Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. and its OEM products (Ricoh Co., Ltd., Murata Machinery, Ltd.) register Windows services with unquoted file paths. A user with the write permission on the root directory of the system drive may execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privilege.
A weakness has been identified in Total VPN 0.5.29.0 on Windows. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality of the file C:\Program Files\Total VPN\win-service.exe. Executing a manipulation can lead to unquoted search path. It is possible to launch the attack on the local host. This attack is characterized by high complexity. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
Spy Emergency build 23.0.205 contains an unquoted service path vulnerability in the SpyEmrgHealth and SpyEmrgSrv services that allows local attackers to escalate privileges by inserting malicious executables. Attackers can place executable files in the unquoted service path and trigger service restart or system reboot to execute code with LocalSystem privileges.
sheed AntiVirus 2.3 contains an unquoted service path vulnerability in the ShavProt service that allows local attackers to escalate privileges by exploiting the service binary path. Attackers can insert a malicious executable in the unquoted path and trigger service restart or system reboot to execute code with LocalSystem privileges.
Hotspot Shield 6.0.3 contains an unquoted service path vulnerability in the hshld service binary that allows local attackers to escalate privileges by injecting malicious executables. Attackers can place executable files in the service path and upon service restart or system reboot, the malicious code executes with LocalSystem privileges.
An unquoted Windows service executable path vulnerability in IJ Scan Utility for Windows versions 1.1.2 through 1.5.0 may allow a local attacker to execute a malicious file with the privileges of the affected service.
UPS Multi-UPS Management Console (MUMC) version 01.06.0001 (A03) contains an Unquoted Search Path or Element (CWE-428) vulnerability, which allows a user with write access to a directory on the system drive to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.
UPS Multi-UPS Management Console (MUMC) version 01.06.0001 (A03) contains an Incorrect Default Permissions (CWE-276) vulnerability that allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges by causing the application to load a specially crafted DLL.
IObit Advanced SystemCare 10.0.2 contains an unquoted service path vulnerability in the AdvancedSystemCareService10 service that allows local attackers to escalate privileges. Attackers can place a malicious executable in the service path and trigger privilege escalation when the service restarts or the system reboots, executing code with LocalSystem privileges.
Serviio PRO 1.8 contains an unquoted search path vulnerability in the Windows service that allows local users to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges by placing malicious executables in the system root path. Additionally, improper directory permissions with full access for the Users group allow authenticated users to replace the executable file with arbitrary binaries, enabling privilege escalation during service startup or system reboot.
An unquoted service path in Kingosoft Technology Ltd Kingo ROOT v1.5.8.3353 allows attackers to escalate privileges via placing a crafted executable file into a parent folder.
Acer Backup Manager 3.0.0.99 contains an unquoted service path vulnerability in the NTI IScheduleSvc service that allows local users to potentially execute arbitrary code. Attackers can exploit the unquoted path in C:\Program Files (x86)\NTI\Acer Backup Manager\ to inject malicious executables that would run with elevated LocalSystem privileges.
AXIS Optimizer was vulnerable to an unquoted search path vulnerability, which could potentially lead to privilege escalation within Microsoft Windows operating system. This vulnerability can only be exploited if the attacker has access to the local Windows machine and sufficient access rights (administrator) to write data into the installation path of AXIS Optimizer.
WIN-PACK PRO 4.8 contains an unquoted service path vulnerability in the WPCommandFileService that allows local users to potentially execute code with elevated privileges. Attackers can exploit the unquoted path in C:\Program Files <x86>\WINPAKPRO\WPCommandFileService Service.exe to inject malicious code that would execute with LocalSystem permissions.
The service executable path in Seagate Toolkit on Versions prior to 2.34.0.33 on Windows allows an attacker with Admin privileges to exploit a vulnerability as classified under CWE-428: Unquoted Search Path or Element. An attacker with write permissions to the root could place a malicious Program.exe file, which would execute with SYSTEM privileges.
An Unquoted Search Path vulnerability has been identified in the utility for Moxa’s industrial computers (Windows). Due to the unquoted path configuration in the SerialInterfaceService.exe utility, a local attacker with limited privileges could place a malicious executable in a higher-priority directory within the search path. When the Serial Interface service starts, the malicious executable could be run with SYSTEM privileges. Successful exploitation could allow privilege escalation or enable an attacker to maintain persistence on the affected system. While successful exploitation can severely impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected device itself, there is no loss of confidentiality, integrity, or availability within any subsequent systems.
| The Windows service configuration of ABP and AES contains an unquoted ImagePath registry value vulnerability. This allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary code by placing a malicious executable in a predictable location such as C:\Program.exe. If the service runs with elevated privileges, exploitation results in privilege escalation to SYSTEM level. This vulnerability arises from an unquoted service path affecting systems where the executable resides in a path containing spaces.
Affected products and versions include: ABP 2.0.7.6130 and earlier as well as AES 1.0.6.6133 and earlier. |
IDT PC Audio 1.0.6499.0 contains an unquoted service path vulnerability that allows local users to potentially execute arbitrary code with elevated system privileges. Attackers can exploit the unquoted path in the STacSV service to inject malicious code that would execute with LocalSystem account permissions during service startup.
